Pre-fall 2017: Highlights From The Collections

I’ve talked about spring fashion and upcoming fall fashion these weeks, so what could I possibly miss? Well, pre-fall 2017 is something yet to explore. It’s beyond absurd that we live in a world of consumption in a pace that’s impossible to keep up with. But as a fashion person at heart, a part of me is grateful for the generous dose of clothes to admire. So here are some highlights of the pre-fall 2017 collections. They’re quite good, so I wouldn’t mind skipping summer and head straight to the early days of fall! (did I hear a yes?)

Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2017

I have a hate and love relation to Michael Kors. The brand constantly balances between  a perfected classic style and boring. A lot of looks could be from any designer (almost) while other looks embraces interesting details, cuts, choice of fabric and styling – only in a sophisticated yet perfected style Kors could do. The pre-fall collection feels like a contemporary twist on the 1940s style with a long silhouette, simple details and a subtle enhancement of the female body.

The first of my top three picks is the insanely stylish office (?) dress. The wearable mermaid style feels both fun and innovative and I can see it grow in popularity. The second pick is mainly about the jacket/blazer that is so elegant yet bold and empowering. The lines and cuts are simple and well placed. The buttons creates a fun effect (even though I’m not too keen on the style of the buttons in specific, they look, cheap?). The third look has the perfect coat. The oversized style, arms and boxy feeling is so good. Also crushing on the shoes, so ugly and so chic! Full collection here.

Chloé Pre-Fall 2017

I do realize it might seem like I’m sponsored by Chloé as I bring up the fashion label up in every other post, but I’m not (crying here). However, the pre-fall collection was just way too charming to ignore. It feels like a collection for everyday work in the city and cozy weekends out in the countryside. Sheer fabrics and pale shades for the city and cozy materials for the country.

The first look is a gorgeous contrast of the “practical” turtleneck and the decorative style of the sheer fabric. A fun and interesting contrast that’s pretty wearable! The second look might be the prettiest coat I’ve seen in awhile. The collar is gorgeous, so is the statement of the sleeves (faux puh-lease) and the clean lines. I want to wear a baby pink beret to it and wander the streets of Paris. The last look is either a hit or miss to people, most likely. Love the heavy feeling of the fabrics and the high level of coziness. The print and the colors feels very fall-ish and the denim is just as genius as denim is! Full collection here.

Fausto Puglisi Pre-Fall 2017

I felt like we almost had an Elie Saab runway situation here, but some of the looks were too good to ignore. The collection feels overall quite “the tropics meets fall” which is not a combo one usually opt for. But it sort of works. The prints and colors are electric and rather wearable.

The first look is a situation of “I have no idea what’s happening but I’m here for it”. I mean, is that a layered cape? Is that a jacket of inception? Who on earth would think of pairing tropical prints with military vibes? Well not me, but I’m grateful cause’ it works perfectly. I don’t even know where a clothing piece end and the next one begins so let’s just say I need the whole look (cause I do). The second look might be the best wrap dress (or is it a jacket?) I’ve seen for quite some time. Genius to go for print on one side and neutral on the other. Definitely wearable and an embodiment of effortlessly chic. The third look is not that good though. I’m afraid it looks rather cheap which is ironic given the price. But I still love the idea of it, how chic to go for a long shirt and never ending otk boots? I’d do some changes (ofc), but love the principle behind! Full collection here.

Folks! Which look is your favorite from the Pre-fall 2017 highlights? Drop a comment! Xx

    • Haha I think all of these clothes are out of my price range, but always fun to be inspired indeed! Xx

  1. Ok I have the same feeling toward Michael Kors. And also from watching Project Runway, sometimes he rubs me the wrong way. But I do like his story of how he was discovered and became a designer with the help of Bergdorf Goodman. I learned that from watching their documentary, Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s, which I recommend. I love Chloe too and that would be a dream sponsorship. And those FP boots are unreal! Although I don’t think I’d have anywhere to wear them haha.

    • Hahah I get that! OH thank you babe, haha I love that you always gives me tips about shows/movies to see! The FP boots are insane indeed, but we all need them, right?! Xx

  2. Ha! I wouldn’t mind skipping straight to Fall either. I miss it already, and the runway looks were so good, both pre-Fall and Fall. From these three collections, I thought Michael Kors was fantastic sartorially (I have that love/hate relationship as well), and I somehow fell in love with Chloe all over again. The Chloe collection in particular makes me wish I could skip to Fall the most!

You’ve been so kind to me, thank you, and I hope your week is going well!

  5. The choice of materials at Chloé always amaze me; so delicate, whimsical and beautiful! The brand has (and probably always will) remind me of Valentino in that respect. You’ve cherry-picked and shared some really gorgeous looks for this post!

    • That’s quite true though. Chloé feels like a younger and more parisian version of Valentino, and by all rights. Love it! Xx

  9. I totally get what you mean about MK, I feel the same way, as well as with Steve Madden. Both can create such beautiful and somewhat innovative designs, yet at the same time, they can often mirror other designers and give off a bit of a knock off feel, but sometimes, I don’t mind if they’re designed well 😉 lol. That said, I absolutely adore that gingham dress with the sweetheart neckline, it’s both sexy and sophisticated. Give me EVERYTHING from Chloé please, haha! Can we talk about that contrasted sleeve wool coat, omg! I’m also loving the patterns in the Fausto Puglisi collection, but I do feel it’s a bit much in the first look with the details and print. Like you said, you can’t really tell where it begins and ends, it’s kind of overwhelming. It think I’d opt for the boots, I’m guessing they’re thigh high? Thanks so much for sharing, gorgeous girlie, and I hope you’re having the best week so far!

    • Hahah same here, if the design is stylish, I might not complain! Hahah I seriously though everyone would go for MK but given the comments, Chloé seems to have won everyone’s heart? Love it though! Haha and the Puglisi boots would have been something, right?! Xx

  10. I have to say, from these collections, I like most all of these styles. Chloë pieces are some of my favourites but the last Fausto piece and all of Michael Kors styles here are very wearable for me! Thanks! xx/Madison

    • Hahah, well it is! Ofc you can, high neck pieces for chilly summer nights sounds like a perfect combo! Xx
