Get Ready For Spring 2017

Folks, I’ve been outdoing myself about these spring posts. Hahah I’ve seriously talked about spring, its trends and styling tips since September last year – And I don’t even like spring that much. Talk about overcompensating. Well well, here are more or less all the posts on spring fashion/beauty in specific. Summary? How to get ready for spring 2017:

3 Makeup Looks On Point

Yes I am and will probably remain the best hypocrite in the world when it comes to makeup. I love the idea of pushing boundaries and I’m crushing on every other makeup look there is – but I’m often keeping it pretty natural myself (except eyeliner, cause that’s everything). But that won’t stop me from at least adoring crazy makeup looks and encourage others to go for it, right? 😉 Anyways, here are 3 makeup looks on point:

Makeup Looks On Point

Turquoise Eyelids

I know I’ve talked about this one before, but it’s kind of too good  to not bring up again. The makeup look is from Leonard Paris’ Fall/Winter 17/18 and it’s frankly genius. Love the intense turquoise that stretches above the eyelid and the distinct lines. It gives associations to art pop and kind of a funky 60s vibe. Love the black eyeliner under the eye too, that frames the turquoise dots. I know this look is for fall/winter, but I think it works equally as good for spring/summer with the summer-ish color turquoise is. Such a great way of making a color pop to and a statement by color!

Glitter Liner

I think these makeup looks are perfect examples of how makeup can be done subtly but still pushing the boundaries. The makeup look is as natural as it only can be with perfect skin, defined brows, neutral colored lips and some mascara – but with the exception of some glitter under the eyes. And it’s just divine, don’t you think? So gorgeous to go for silver metallic (read full post here) and still keep it rather subtle. Makes the eyes pop even better and probably catches the light gorgeously. I wish and hope that makeup like this will be normative in a few years time, how fun wouldn’t that be?

Half Cat Eye Makeup

So framing the eyes is one of my favorite things to say but I must say that I adore this half version of it. I think it’s genius how the eyes are intensified but still left kind of open and gives an impression of being bigger. The trick here is to do full eyeliner up and under for half the eye, leave the inner half bare and then connect with some black eyeliner for the inner corner. Leave the rest of the face rather natural with some subtle blush for the cheeks. To all of us that are always going for the classic eyeliner, perhaps this one is not completely out of the comfort zone but quite the good compromise? Will definitely try this one as I adore the effect it has.

10 Ideas For Spring Beauty 2017

Time for part two of this post, 30 Ideas For Spring Fashion 2017! Today’s focus is spring beauty 2017 with some random ideas as well as beauty trends. Here are 10 ideas for spring: (and oh, check the slideshows for more inspo!)

Spring Beauty 2017

Colorful Manicure – French manicure has for long been associated with fresh nails. So what’s a better idea than changing the regular white tip to a colorful one and go fresh for spring? Try a hot pink, a baby blue or a green shade?

Gorgeous Glow – Another thing that’s associated with spring is glowing skin. If you don’t want to go full heavy with contour, just go for strobing (only highlighter that is) and highlight your cheekbones and nose tip. Go for a highlight in a bronzy shade to get a natural spring touch.

Red lips – Of course red lips are a perfect go-to for spring. Mainly because they work so well with spring trends such as stripes, florals and bright colors. Go for a warmer and lighter shade if you want to keep it summer-ish.

Pops of the 80s – The 1980s are trending (okey, we all know that now) and so is pops of colors in your makeup game. So what’s a better combination than going for some colorful spots in 1980s colors? Try hot pink or mint blue for the eyes and a bright purple for the lips. Or go more subtle as below!

White nails – All white nails are way too underrated. They are chic, goes to anything and makes the nails looks longer. Go for a white monochrome look for your nails this spring and you’ll be quite the trendy one.

Fake Freckles – Another sign of spring and summer is the increasing of freckles. I’m one of those people that get freckles from the sun, and I love it. I have no idea why people cover theirs up, freckles are gorgeous! If you don’t have freckles and want to try the look, take an eyebrow pen (that’s slightly darker than your skin) and do small and irregular dots!

Metallic lips – Metallic makeup is another trend for spring 2017 and one way to go about it is by the lips. Go for a shimmery shade (perhaps champagne, rose or golden?) and embrace the light 90s vibe. No need to go for glitter if you don’t feel like it, you can still keep the metallic game lowkey! A highlighter with some metallic shimmer is another way to do it.

Blushy Blush – Blush might not be the hottest makeup feature at the moment, but with the classic shade of blush being a major trend in fashion – why not go for a blush look this spring? Adding some color to the cheeks is a lovely way of giving some life to your winter tired face. (just see below!)

Pastel shades – Pastels are the gems of this season and lights up the mood perfectly. Talking about the 1960s last week, I’ve been more and more obsessed with the idea of going for pastel shades. Like baby blue with a heavy eyeliner or bright yellow? Or bubble pink lips?

Orange lips – Lips in shades of bright red or intense orange are also underrated. Orange is such a flattering color on many and a great change from the regular red. With a warm undertone it also embraces the bronzy shades and goes well with freckles too.

Folks! What will you be working for spring beauty 2017? Let me know in the comments! Xx

Preview: Makeup Trends Fall 2017

As I told you in the post on Monday, preview of the fall 2017 fashion trends, here’s a preview of the makeup trends fall 2017. As beauty trends are more limited and precise than fashion trends, I’ve made a shorter list rather than a full on summary. Here are  some of the makeup trends fall 2017:

Makeup Trends Fall 2017

Colorful For Life

So a colorful fashion for fall has already been clarified, but same goes for the makeup life. Colorful eyeshadows and eyeliners are trending. Of course in traditional shape of powdery eyeshadows, but also creamier ones where the color is more intensified. Oscar de la Renta demonstrated this gorgeously. Vivienne Westwood also went colorful with a neon touch. Versus Versace went a bit smoky with a navy shade. Zadig & Voltaire went more artsy with gorgeous popping shades, like yellow.

1980s Natural Face

I know, a specific look for a 1980s natural face shouldn’t differ anymore from a regular natural face. But you know that Cindy Crawford natural look? With big bushy brows, lips with a slight intensified red shade and a bit bronzy face? Well, that look is accompanying the fashion trends of the 80s. Think healthy, natural and perfected features (like eyebrows but better, natural lip color but stronger). Marchesa, Calvin Klein and Tory Burch all worked this look in different versions.

Simple Statements

I don’t know if this is a reaction to the makeup on makeup looks that are everywhere, but for fall 2017, designers want us to stick to one statement. If you’re going for statement lips, let them be in focus. If you’re going for intensified eyes, leave them at that. Marc Jacobs went for a natural look with bold lips. So did Jason Wu with the perfect shade of red. La Perla went for heavy eyes and nude colored lips.

Artsy lines

TomeVersus Versace and Mulberry are only some of the designers that went for lines with an artsy statement. Not really in terms of a classic cateye, but random or exaggerated  lines in different colors. Perhaps something not for the everyday, but ever so gorgeous and artsy! Mulberry’s makeup look could pass for an everyday makeup look with the framing of the eyes though!

Refined 90s

I don’t care if I only noticed Derek Lam doing this, but oh my such a pretty look. The awkward bright blue shade from the 90s (often done with mauve lips: see here) – but in a refined version. The bright blue is beautifully blended, with a touch of metallic, and the mauve is changed to a glossy lip. And above all: the look is kept as natural as possible. Genius balance of the features! I can definitely go for the 90s makeup if the blue shade is that pretty.
