Makeup Sponge

Folks, as you may know, there are different ways of applying foundation. Some prefer using fingers, some prefer brushes and some uses a makeup sponge. We’ll leave you to it which way is the best (our most fun to use), but we do have some notes for using the sponge!

Pros
A makeup sponge is great for blending different foundations and get the right color. Depending on the shape of your sponge, different parts facilitate the application of different areas. For instance, the pointy part is great for smaller areas such as the nose, under the eye or when covering a blemish! The bottom is great when heading for the chins or the forehead as it covers a larger area!

Cons
As the foundation is soaked up by the sponge and you touch it with your hands, it gets quite dirty easy and becomes full of bacterias in an instant! So it’s important to wash it thoroughly with a gentle soap. As we people tend to be lazy, or constantly are in a rush, this isn’t always the best case. The makeup spone can also be a bit clumsy to handle.

How to use it

  1. Begin by soaking the sponge with water. Squeeze out the water and dry it gently with a towel.
  2. Go ahead and use it. As stated above, it’s great for blending colors!
  3. Be sure to wash it properly with a gently soap (until all the makeup is gone). Let it air dry.

Note: A makeup sponge is also usable for applying cream blush, or even eyeshadow if you know your makeup game alright! And of course primer, concealer and highlighter!
