Remove Blackheads

So there may not be an exact formula for removing blackheads for good, but in terms of taking care of your skin, you can decrease them!

What are blackheads?

Blackheads are actually your pores that have been in contact with oxygen. The oxygen is what creates the dark spot, so it’s a myth that blackheads are just dirt. Blackheads are more visible when they’re open, which they are when put to heat or if you’re sweating. That’s why people pop them after they’ve showered (and that’s what you should do to, if you can’t resist popping them).

Do’s and dont’s

Popping blackheads are not only tempting, but also a way of removing them. But how illogical this may sound, popping them is the last thing you should do. Not only are you irritating your skin and bringing more bacterias to the area, you’re also damaging your skin. Risking to leave ugly scars and causing a bigger damage than leaving the blackhead alone. What you should do however is to treat it with love (ugh, nerdy expression - we know!). And the best way to go about it is not touching them, and also treat it with the right products or ingredients.

How to remove blackheads

There’s mainly one word to remember, think about and live after and that is keeping your face clean! By that said, washing your face on a daily basis, changing your sheets and keeping your hands away. That in combination with occasional masks, creams and scrubs will keep the blackheads in their place. We talked about some genius and favorable scrubs in this post. Another golden one is honey and cinnamon. Mix the honey with some cinnamon and apply it on your skin. Massage the skin in circles and wash away with tepid water! And then of course, there are so many lotions and products out there, something we’ll get back on later!

  1. You’re right, popping is SO tempting but so awful for your skin. I haven’t tried this honey and cinnamon combination but will definitely give it a try. You can’t beat natural remedies!

  2. Ughh, I hate blackheads and I have so many of them on my nose. I always use charcoal scrub and nose strips to remove them. Unfortunately nothing gets rid of them permanently.

  3. I have gotten better with leaving them alone, but I would always pick at them or pop them and because of that, it left behind some scars 🙁 I’ve tried the honey and cinnamon spot treatment and it works well, so this is a great suggestion! Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you’re having a great day so far!

  4. I never would have thought about trying honey and cinnamon, what a great idea! I bet it smells fantastic too!

  5. I can never resist popping them, as gross as that may sound, also use a tone of different “detox” and anti-blackhead masks. However I’m always careful to be gentle with my skin and not over do it. Awesome post!
