Out of all the trends this spring/summer season, this must be one of my favorites. I absolutely adore when the statement lies within the structure and silhouette of an outfit. The voluminous dress spring 2019 is all about the spacious, often, A-line silhouette that adds a casual chicness to any outfit. I love when they’re done midi style, but I must say I’m crushing big time on the mini style as well. Going for an intense volume and cut it short mid-thighs, or above, intensifies the volume of the dress – which I adore. Catch previous trend alerts here!

Voluminous Dress Spring 2019
This style of dress has been a popular match to do with OTK boots, both for last fall but also this season. There’s a nice balance of the voluminous style and the defined OTK boots, that’s very appealing and contemporary. The dresses have commonly been done one colored, often preppy pastels but also neutrals such as grey, black and white. Statement sleeves have been a popular element of the dresses, often with ham sleeves that underlines the bulky look. Sometimes the neckline is squared, but often rounded and with a hemline that runs across the upper chest, enhancing the voluminous effect.
How To Wear Them
First of all, I do want to stress that the absolute best season to wear the voluminous dresses is right now. I love this trend with some bare legs and put the focus on some fun statement shoes. I think OTK boots can be fun on more chilly days, but a pair of chunky boots or sneakers might be even more stylish. There’s something about pairing chunky shoes with a chunky clothing piece and leave it at that. I don’t think there’s more styling needed than to focus on the shoes and some good accessories. Putting your hair up, perhaps a low bun, and a nice pair of statement earrings can be an idea for more glam occasions. Going for a nice clutch or a straw bag will also make the outfit more formal. If it’s a bit chilly outside, I would do a tight dress under the voluminous one rather than to layer with a clothing piece on top.
Street Style Inspiration
And some street style inspiration to get us going! I love the simplicity in the first outfit. The style of the dress get its time in the spotlight with the minimal styling. Love the hairdo, the black bag and shoes. It centers the focus to the dress. The second look follows the same pattern of simple styling and leaving the spacious silhouette as it is. The layering in the third outfit is really chic as it doesn’t interfere with the volume but emphasizes the silhouette by following the same A-cut. Really fresh to go for a monochromatic look as well. The pink dress in the fourth look is adorable with the more detailed style. I think the layering looks really cute, but what elevates this look is the choice of red shoes that goes perfectly well with the pink dress. Love the layering in the fifth look with the defined jeans and sneakers. It brings out the more casual look of the dress, making it suitable for running errands etc.

Same here! Xx
I love the look of this dress paired with a waist belt, when the material and overall design lean more towards a causal style. I love the look of the first one, without a belt, for a summer wedding! Such a great trend to embrace this season, as it’s one that’s both quick and easy, while making a statement. Thanks for sharing, beauty; Happy Monday!
