Trend Alert: Mom Jeans 2020

It’s almost been two months since I last wrote a trend alert! Not too much, from a trend perspective, has happened in the fashion world since. I’m definitely excited though to jump straight into the spring trends and dream about the fashion we’ll work once life is back to normal! Folks, what about the mom jeans 2020? Find more trend alert articles here.

Mom Jeans 2020

So the mom jeans are one of the trendiest styles of jeans 2020! They’re a product of the 1990s fashion that’s trendy at the moment. The mom jeans are characterized by their high waist, their semi-loose fit and their straight style. The jeans are common in classic blue, but also a washed blue. The Mom Jeans 2020 are favorably bought in a second hand store for the authentic 90s feeling or perhaps something inherited from your mom’s closet, or your own? If you don’t own any mom jeans, or interested in buying, boyfriend jeans are pretty similar (but more baggy).

How To Style The Mom Jeans 2020

I must say that the current way of styling mom jeans 2020 is pretty good. It’s common to pair the 90s item with cropped tops. Either blouses, simple tops or cropped sweaters. Tucking in t-shirts and sweaters have also been common. I like working with the denim material and wear my mom jeans with leather jacket or a faux fur. I also like wearing midi dresses over my jeans for a chic styling effect. When it comes to shoes it can be chic to go for a neat pair of boots or flats to balance the semi-loose style. A pair of patent leather boots can be really chic. I also love the idea of a tucked in voluminous blouse, mom jeans and a pair of ballerinas! Elegant but wearable. If you want to embrace the 90s’ life, go for a pair of chunky sneakers! As for colors and prints, denim blue is a neutral color and is therefore a match with any color.

Street Style Inspiration

And some street style as always! Love the first look, such a good definition of casual chic. Love how the black t-shirt and the jeans becomes more glam with the blazer and the shoes. The layered jewelries are also contributing to the more elegant style. The second look is really chic too with the patterned blouse and the matching blazer. Love the patent leather boots in the third look. The fourth outfit is another gem. Love the layering with a midi long dress. The slit in the front makes the clothing pieces more synchronized. The last look is quite cozy with the sweater tucked in. Love how the belt makes up for a nice detail!

  1. Hey Mia! Hope you’re doing good in these strange and weird days!
I love this kind of baggy and relaxed jeans, I feel they are my favorite type of jeans since you can play with shapes and forms. Your proposals are so good and the jeans by Stella McCartney are to die for, wouldn’t mind to get some pieces from her but for now I can’t afford them!
    Keep safe and sound!

    1. So true! Love the semi-voluminous style. So chic to pair with cropped, voluminous styles! And yesss haha, would love pieces from Stella McCartney too! Xx

  2. Oh the mom jeans trend is so awesome. I love it! I have been watching SITC again on Amazon and I am always amazed at how Carrie’s looks still resonate today. The other three characters looks do look dated and from that era. But the looks for Carrie for the most part could be worn today.

    1. Carrie’s fashion in SATC is so interesting indeed! So timeless, yet so specific. Love the SATC fashion! Xx

  3. Will I ever get into mom jeans?? I’m leaning towards yes, but it’s so difficult for me to WANT to look like a mom, ya know? For some reason I want to see cargo pants with awful dad pockets come back into style. I wish I could pull off mom jeans as chic as these street stylers are! Happy Monday, Mia! xx

    1. Hahah oh cmon! We all know you’ll make the mom jeans look incredible fierce with a cropped top, some heels and perhaps a blazer? I know you can work it girl! XX

    1. That’s great! I love mine too. So chic indeed with a blouse or cropped jumper! Xx

  4. I’m a bit on the fence for them on myself, but I do like them on others! I need to try them out though! Love your styling ideas! It’s great inspiration!
