Oscars 2022 – Red Carpet Review

Folks! This Oscars 2022 red carpet wasn’t the moment, right? So many odd choices of dresses, styling, hair and makeup. For instance, I’m not too sure about the trend of cutouts on glam gowns that dominated the red carpet completely. A lot of necklines were also ill-fitted and some choices of fabrics were off. But hey, I’m not one to drag specific looks, so let’s focus on the creations that were amazing, stylish and simply gorgeous. I included a few looks from the Vanity Fair red carpet too, just to balance it all. And oh, honorary mentions that also could’ve been included: Demi Singleton, Lily James, Jessica Chastain and Sophie Turner,

Oscars 2022 – Red Carpet 2022

Dakota Johnson

Dakota Johnson has always had a strong red carpet game and this look was no exception. The colors, the cut, the silhouette; everything was just perfection. It was glam, it was fashionable, and it was on point. Loved her wispy bangs too, and the minimal makeup, it really highlighted the dress even further. I’ll take this dress and une coupe de champagne in my hand, asap!

Vanessa Hudgens

Hudgens’ red carpet dress was minimalist, modern and edgy. Quite a trendy choice for the red carpet, but nevertheless stunning. What really stood out though was the accessories, her hair and the makeup. It enhanced the trendy vibe of the dress, but also made it even more glam. Gorgeous!

Jeremy O’ Harris

And how stylish wasn’t this colorful look of Jeremy O’ Harris? Just adore the mint blue color, done with a brocade pattern. The pink bow contrasts the blue hue in a beautiful way, and also embrace a modern 18th century look. More statement looks like these from the men please!

Maya Rudolph

I adore the fall of Maya Rudolph’s dress, absolutely gorgeous with a more minimalist 70s dress. The choice of color, the feathered hemline and the v-neckline is a superb combination. I also love how her fierce haircut balance the flowy style of the dress. Very glam with the silver accessories too.

Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba has that old glam Hollywood vibe to her and I think this look showcased that perfectly. From the subtle structure of the dress to the midi length, it was just a perfect mix of wearability and red carpet glam. I think the navy blue hue is insanely flattering for red carpet gowns too, especially when done with a sparkling material such as this one. Perhaps the makeup could’ve been done more peachy for that ultimate glam look, but she’s glowing nevertheless.

Alexandra Daddario

And speaking of old Hollywood, Alexandra Daddario looked gorgeous in this black, dramatic, dress. The sheer fabric in combination with the deep V-cut is so stylish. The embroidery and the pearls are also embodying the old school glam style. Her dark red lips are also on point, as well as the luxe earrings. Perhaps some retro waves would’ve been a favorable contrast to the already sharp dress, but her makeup is popping with that hairstyle!
