Nail Trends Summer 2016

Even though trends should be taken with a grain of salt (it’s a reason why we always return to the classics year after year), but nevertheless is it fun to embrace trends and enjoy them while they last. The nails are no exception and even though we love our red, black and french manicure, the nail trends summer 2016 are fun ones indeed!

Colors

Poppin’ colors for summer is a recurring trend each years that only differs in its choice of colors. This year yellow and orange nails are a hit to work. Some royal blue nails were spotted at Jenny Packham’s show as well,  and we’re not the ones to say no to blue!

Manicure Bold

Instead of a white tip, change it to a more fun color to make a bold statement. Green nail tips were the go to choice at Monique Lhuillier with a matching eyeliner, ever so chic and ever so trendy! Another version is to circle your nails by lining their outer corners, doing a full round marking instead of just the tip.

Metallic

Another season and another metallic trend. 3.1 Phillip Lim worked the metallic nails, as well as Reem Acra. Rose gold is a perfect option for the season, but also warmer metallics or nail polishes with shimmer that reflects the light.

Geometric

Nails with squares and lines that differ in colors and shapes are also a hit this season. See  the designer Betsey Johnson’s nails below for her 2016 runway show. Or why not a simple line across the nail like Elisabetta Franchi demonstrated? Keep the base simple and the line in a statement color and you’ll have trendy nails in line with the season.

Folks, what are your favorite nail trends summer 2016?

  1. I love wearing mint in the summer… It’s probably my favourite color 🙂 I love these geometric ones, they’re so sophisticated, but fun at the same time… And orange looks great, too 🙂 xx
