Makeup Trends Fall 2016

We don’t even know if we dare to write this, but as we wrote about fashion week yesterday, we might as well do it even though there’s one month of summer left. What are we even talking about? Well, how about the Makeup Trends Fall 2016? There are good ones, and we’re quite excited!

Poppin’ Glitter

You know we think that you should sparkle glitter over life. And this fall the reason is totally valid as glitter makeup is a fact. Sparkle it over your eyelids, by your brows, on your cheeks and on your lips. We don’t really care if it’s impractical, it is glitter after all (aka makeup party of life)! If you’re still not sure, why not just opt for some shimmery highlight? Some designers that worked the glittery makeup look are Giambattista Valli and N.21 (below)!

Outside the Lines

As every season,  the classics return time after time! But frankly speaking, we don’t mind, especially since they come with a twist! This fall it’s all about going outside the lines (like literally). Do a chic double liner like the 1960’s, or a dramatic one like Dior Couture Fall 2016, or just some random lines that are sort of favorable (we do like the Giamba look below). But don’t worry, designers like Emilio Pucci and Chloé worked the regular liner too!

1980s pop

We know, we know. The 1980’s fashion and beauty life is still a dark spot in history. And it’s on the verge of cringe but, guess what, it’s back to the future this fall.  The 1980’s are here again.  Your eyeliner should be neon, your lips too and your eyeshadows should be in a popping color not to mention. We don’t know yet if we should blame this trend on Fendi (below) and Mugler or just be grateful, let us get back to you on that one!

Bad Romance

If we’ve been talking way too much about the poppin’ colors for summer, just wait until fall is over and the dark lips will have been on the agenda at least once a week. We just love a statement lip! And as the fashion rules follows too, the poppin’ colors of summer should be changed to the darker hues of fall. We’re talking burgundy, black, purple, brown, dark red and whatever lipstick shade that’s a bit vampireish (that’s a word now). Max Mara, Bottega Veneta, Marni, Marc Jacobs, Dior and Zac Posen did all return to the fall classic makeup look.

Not natural but natural

And what’s a trendy season without returning to the classic natural look? We don’t complain, we like it natural and finished. Just a minor detail that it acquires at least 10 different makeup products. A perfect base, brushy eyebrows, some rosy cheeks, a lovely natural hue on the lips and a healthy glow. Marchesa, Chloé and Michael Kors continues the natural makeup look to fall! And, just remember that it is not natural, it should just look natural!

  1. This is so cool. I really need to start learning more and more about makeup. I need to start the YouTube videos ASAP. Once I get some time. Thanks for sharing and giving me some ideas.

  2. I’m so happy about abstract glitter lids, it’s unreal. Not natural but natural is always a fun look, and who doesn’t love a statement lip?! Really great post, and now I’m thinking about getting my hands on some glitter ASAP.
