Golden Globes 2017: Red Carpet

So the gala season for series and film has taken off as the Golden Globes 2017 took place last night. As much as we owe a lot to tv-series and movies for adding excitement to our lives, I’m all here for the red carpet looks! So here are some of the best looks from Golden Globes 2017 according to me!

Ruth Negga

We all love metallic, no question about it, so perhaps that’s why Negga’s statement dress is such a good one. All in silver metallic and with defined lines, this dress balances the heavy metallic with a simple design. The silver also brings a futuristic touch. I love the slits in the front and the lines by the zipper (and neck) that frames the dress beautifully. Not to forget the gorgeous matching of metallic eyeshadow and an old styled Hollywood hairdo! The dress is from Louis Vuitton.

Michelle Williams

Williams always bring an adorable A-game to the red carpet. This year she embraced a simple white lace dress. The white lace is leaning towards a grey tone and complements the feminine style of the off the shoulder part. She highlights the collarbones with an adorable bow/choker, that kind of makes the whole look. Her pixie also leads the focus to her dress, which is favorable! Louis Vuitton is behind this dress too!

Olivia Culpo

Oh my, this must be one of my favorite looks of the evening. It’s not only her dress that looks like a fairytale but Culpo herself looks like one. The different types of prints blends beautifully to one. The crossed body top balances the heavy skirt perfectly and so does her smokey and dramatic makeup. The mix of colors might not be typical for a red carpet event as Golden Globes, but I think it works nevertheless. I  would also just like to emphasize that I wouldn’t have a problem, not at all, with looking like this forever (sort of), lol! The dress is signed by Zuhair Murad.

Blake Lively

So Lively is a goddess and we all know it. Black and gold is more or less one of the best color combinations for her as she literally glowed. The body defining dress emphasized her curves with details by the hips. They were matched by the neckline of the dress. This mermaid style of dress is perfect for embracing one’s silhouette too. She matched the dress with a gorgeous glowy makeup look and a neat hairdo. Dress by Atelier Versace.

Chrissy Teigen

Teigen kept the festive feeling of the holidays and embraced gold and red on the carpet. This, also mermaid dress, had some gorgeous embellishment in red. Red that complemented the golden color of the gown perfectly. The defined waist and fabric details by the hips, gave life to the silhouette and some gorgeous curves. The dark red lipstick and the red clutch is a perfect match. The golden dream is from Marchesa!

Lily Collins

Pretty sure this is my favorite look from Golden Globes 2017. Lily Collins also looks like a fairytale in this dusty pink dress. With a tee top, the dreamy life of the dress is balanced with a casual element. The organza is  structured with the lace and most importantly, she matched this dress with a simple bun and a gorgeous dark red lip. Too dreamy and perfectly matched to be honest. This creation is by Zuhair Murad (and I do realized that the top two dresses for me are both signed by this very talented designer!).

Folks, which one is your favorite? Leave a comment below! Xx

  1. OMG Blake Lively and Ruth Negga are my faves!! The Lively dress is sooo gorgeous, although those pockets kind of bother me. I really like them but their non-functionality is making my eye twitch a bit.

Negga’s dress is my spirit dress. I am in LOVE with those sequins. And you’re right, the lines add such a cool futuristic element to it.

  4. You’ve chosen some of my favorite looks. I’d also add Naomi Harris and Viola Davis. Both their dresses accentuated their banging bodies. Oh and Mandy Moore for that unexpectedly amazing cleavage. Who knew she had that going on under there? haha

  6. Stylists must have been working overtime, because there were so many gorgeous looks last night! Your picks just prove it. I adored Blake Lively’s look. It was so classic and chic! I was head-over-heels for Nicole Kidman’s look as well! Very fairy princess, and I’d wear it every day if I could.

I hope you have a great week Mia!
