5 Fashion Movies

There is no better day to watch movies than on Sundays. And as we’re fashion dorks by heart, we also have quite some love for the movies as well. And what’s a better combo than fashionable movies? So in honor of Sunday, we’ve listed 5 fashion movies!

fashion movies yslCoco Before Chanel (2009)

So even though the movie, as the title suggests, mostly focuses on legendary fashion designer Coco Chanel’s life before she began working with fashion; this is still a fashionable movie to watch. With french elegance, Audrey Tautou makes a superb Chanel and fits superbly in the costume.

Clueless (1995)

Perhaps not a movie about fashion after all, but quite the fashion statement however. The movie has retained its high status today although it’s been over 20 years since its premiere. Clueless centers around high school student Cher and her friends, facing everyday challenges of being a teenager. If you’re in need of some 90’s fashion inspo, this is your go-to movie!

Yves Saint Laurent (2014)

We’ve been talking about YSL quite a lot lately, and if you can’t get enough of the fashion house, you should definitely see this movie about its founder. The story starts in 1958 with Saint Laurent starting his career in fashion. The movie then follows his ups and downs and his relationship with Pierre Berge, lover and business partner.

The Devil Wears Prada (2006)fashion movies

Well, of course this movie can’t go unnoticed. Capturing the stressful life at the fashion magazine Runway and the harsh jargon as well, this classic movie is definitely a fashionable one. With classic one-liners from Meryl Streep and chic outfits styled by Patricia Field this movie is a perfect Sunday rom-com!

Breakfast At Tiffany’s (1961)

We’re definitely partial here with a love for everything Audrey Hepburn ever did, but BaT is one of the most chic movies of the 1960’s. With elegant looks from Givenchy, Hepburn looked flawless in everything and gave life through the character Holly Golightly, as much as the character gave life to the clothes. We don’t need to say too much about this one, it’s definitely a go!

  2. I am definitely a fan of the Devil Wears Prada… SO funny! It’s never not entertaining!! Clueless is cool to check out some serious 90s fads! You’ve definitely got a good list going! Ever see How to Marry a Millionaire? There’s a private, department store fashion show in that one… and speaking of Marilyn Monroe… Gentleman Prefer Blondes has some great vintage fashion, too!

  4. I have not seen the Coco or Yves Saint Laurent movies, but the other three are absolute fashion classics! These are not movies, but I love watching old episodes of Sex and the City and Beverly Hills, 90210 mostly for the fashion! I am a total fashion dork. I didn’t even know that was a thing…”fashion dork”, but I am so glad you termed it such…now I know I am not alone! Great post!
