3 Ways To Wear Patent Leather 2020

Folks! As I wrote in this trend alert, patent leather is making a big comeback. Or I don’t know if comeback is the right word, but the glossy material is back in the spotlight! Here are three ways to wear patent leather 2020:

Boots

If you own a pair of patent leather boots, I suggest you wear them with jeans! This is the most basic and wearable way of working them. It’s also a great idea to work the patent leather with a midi or maxi dress for a chic contrast. Especially stylish if the dress is patterned. A leopard midi dress with a pair of patent leather boots sounds like quite the statement to me. Also love the idea of working the boots with anything silk, velvet and even lace.

Pants

If you own a pair of patent leather pants, I suggest you pair them with either a crispy shirt, a t-shirt or a puffy blouse. Lovely to balance something more edgy with something more delicate. It’s also chic to pair your cardigan or oversized sweater with your patent leather. Gorgeous to pair anything knitted with patent leather. You can also make the look more formal with a classic coat or a blazer.

Jacket

If you own a patent leather jacket, make it work with a shirt or a sweater. Also, great to pair it with a more delicate dress for a fun contrast. Could be chic to wear the patent jacket with a knitted sweater, if you want to try a layering look. A patent leather jacket could also be chic with an overall or maxi dress for a full effect. A patent leather jacket could also be great with an animal print if you want to go more edgy. Or, why not a hoodie and a pair of sneakers for a casual look? So chic to go for a denim shirt and a patent leather jacket.

Folks! How are you wearing the patent leather 2020? Let me know in the comments below! Xx

    1. Hahah ohhh! Well yes, if you don’t use it, it sounds like a good idea. Or if you save it for colder days 😉
